Today we have encountered a Scam where someone says they are part of the Facebook support team to get you to get discouraged that your Facebook Page is going to removed just to have you click the link. On desktop web browsers, this comes up as website restriction. But if you are on your phone, well this is how they get your information because Facebook on your phone doesn't have the same built-in features that computers has, and you are able to go to the next screen in the link. And so, all the information that is in your profile as well as passwords and credit card information is stolen. So to prevent this Do not click the link. Report as Scam/Spam and enable Two Form Authentication [2FA] on your Facebook account to prevent this from happening again. This Requires you to download Authentication App on your phone which is transferable between phones as long as you are signed into your Samsung or google account.
This nasty little program is downloaded through the processing of phishing on downloaded programs. This particular program comes from FSpro Labs website. This program is a training tool for members of the tech field to understand how ransomware works, and hackers have now used this to use on unsuspecting victims to get them to call this number on the laptops and computers. To fix this issue, there are 2 ways. 1st way is take it to a tech repair such as bring it to us here at The Tech Guys in Torrington, WY.
or fix it yourself and here is how:
1st way: Restore your pc to a previous restore point. once done uninstall lockthispc.exe.
2nd way: On the Screen hit [Ctrl+Spacebar] and enter the code 999901111 and this will produce a series of numbers. These numbers will be able to enter here: https://fspro.net/lock-pc/passrec1/ and follow the directions and then it will give you another code to replace the spot where the 999901111 goes. This will let you into the pc. Once there uninstall the lockthispc.exe.
This solution only removes the surface of the installation but not what this program has done and delt damage in to the roots of your system.
